Success Story
A success story that began in 1947 in the picturesque port of Genoa. Ottavio Novella, the founder, stood out for his intuitive ability to adapt to the evolution of marine engines, focusing particularly on their fuel systems. This strategically positioned him a step ahead during the transition from coal to liquid fuel.
he expansion of our activities has led us towards providing ship management services, with the gradual transfer of fleets from Ottavio Novella S.p.A. and the integration of original services with administrative, technical, operational, and consultancy support provided to affiliated shipowners.
The main activities carried out on behalf of Calisa S.p.A. and Ciane S.p.A. include:
- Technical Services: Expert consulting for new constructions, project supervision, and technical management of vessels in operation.
- Safety & Security Management: End-to-end oversight through our Designated Operational Company (DOC) and a team of specialized professionals.
- Manning Services: Recruitment, onboarding, crew management, and ongoing support — including rotation planning to meet diverse operational needs.
- Administrative Services: Complete administrative support, including accounting, financial management, and budget preparation.
Ottavio Novella is also responsible for the maintenance and conservation of EMSA equipment, ensuring its availability for mobilization 24/7 in case of emergencies.
